Our supportive team of dental care professionals delivers a comprehensive range of general dentistry services to effectively meet the needs of our patients. From fillings, crowns, and bridges to dentures and root canals, we stand behind our work.
A filling is required if you have decay in a tooth, if a tooth has been damaged or cracked, or if one of your current fillings needs replacing. At Ainslie Street Dental Centre, we use bonded fillings made of a composite resin that's almost identical in colour to your teeth. This helps your filling blend in more naturally with your teeth than traditional silver amalgam fillings do.
A crown is a restoration technique that completely covers a tooth, providing it with support and structure. Made of porcelain, dental crowns are used in cases where a tooth cannot be repaired with a filling or other dental procedure.
Dental bridges replace one or more missing teeth, attaching them to the remaining natural teeth on either side in order to 'bridge' the gap between them. A bridge not only helps to create a beautiful smile, but it also acts as a space maintainer, in that it prevents natural teeth from shifting or rotating into the space created by missing teeth.
The most cost-effective option for replacing missing teeth, dentures can be used to replace one, a few, or all of your teeth. Full dentures replace all of the teeth in the top and/or bottom section of your mouth, and are most often made from acrylic, with acrylic or porcelain teeth. Partial dentures, on the other hand, replace one or more missing teeth, and are generally made from a combination of acrylic and metal.
A root canal is necessary when your tooth has developed, or will likely develop, an infection in its inner soft tissue. This type of infection cannot clear up on its own, and so dental intervention is necessary to maintain your oral health, and to prevent future infections from developing.
